Hanging out in the Car

Prior to going to art class today, we had a few minutes to kill. So I put Z in the front seat with me and he had an apple and played with one of his trucks and bobbed his head to some music. He threw his apple when he was ready to go.

Z's First Art Class

Zander has been going to Gymboree for a while. In June and July they are allowing kids to partake in unlimited classes, so yesterday we tried a music class for the first time and today it was Zander's first art class.

Within the first five minutes of the class he managed to get a few blue hand prints on a piece of paper, wipe them off on his shorts and then splat a big pile of blue paint all over a cute little blond girl in a nice dress. I hope her mom wasn't planning to keep her clean. It was a Father's Day themed class, so he made several creations for his dad using everything from finger paint, markers, glue and cut outs. Here are some pictures of the adventure and of course his first artistic creations not including just crayons. I'm sure Evan will be overjoyed to come home to all these special creations today!

Note the blue paint on his shorts, so artistic!

Fun with markers!

Blue finger paint creation!

World's Greatest Dad crown/hat!

Daddy's Helping Hands!

And last but not least, dad's shirt and tie, made with markers, glue and pre-cut tissue paper!

Chopsticks, Train Rides and Playgrounds

Today we took Zander to Downtown Disney, mainly because we were craving Wolfgang Puck's and we hadn't been in about two years. Of course, the very thing we were craving was no longer on the menu, stink, but we had a great time regardless.

Zander had fun playing with our chopsticks while we waited for dinner. He had a mini cheeseburger for the first time along with a side of fruit. He didn't seem to like the burger, so we decided to see if that would change if he could dip it in ketchup. The excitement of dipping a piece of burger into a little cup of ketchup was so fun to him; so much so it saved us from wasting $6 on a meal he wouldn't eat!

After dinner we walked around stopping off at the Lego store where Z hammed it up on the playground!

Last stop - Z's first train ride.

Voila - a great Funday Sunday!

Memorial Day Weekend

On Sunday, we took Zander to a park and then came home and ate corn on the cob, chicken sausage and salad. (well, he didn't really eat the salad). He loved playing on all the toys at Yucatan Park. Surprisingly we had it all to ourselves, probably due to the threatening chance of rain.

This morning he played outside in his inflatable pool again and he had three big pieces of watermelon for a snack. We gave him a haircut and he loved playing with the hose while it was on, watering rocks and himself. Fun family times.

Pondering Life

This is a picture of Z from one of our many backyard outings. He loves to bring a plastic cup to me full of water from his inflatable pool and eagerly waits for me to dump it on his head. I guess I should have known, it wouldn't be long before he would start dousting the water on me as well :/ On this particular day, he also thought it was fun to climb onto the lounge chair with me for a big hug. I gladly gave him one even though he was soaking wet and had dirt and grass all over him! What can I say, he's hard to resist!

Saying Goodbye (for now)

Today my good friend Caryn and her little boy Josiah came over for the last time before moving to Virginia. Zander kept trying to give Josiah hugs and Josiah was feeding Z snacks. It was cute. Here are a few pictures we are storing in our memories until we see them again.

Party in the Hood

We had several of our neighbors over this weekend impromptu to swim and watch the Magic game. We had a total of eight kids and nine adults join us. I didn't get any pictures, but Owen's mom took this one of Zander and Owen eating watermelon in his crab pool. Owen would dump water on Zander's head and then they would both start laughing hysterically. It was fun.
