Things Zander likes

Zander loves cats, much to my dismay. He was outside playing with Owen the other day and was terrorizing one of their cats. Here are some pictures.



In other news, apparently he likes to eat apples straight from the core, as he took mine from me after I only had a few bites and the rest is history:)

Splishin and a Splashin

Today we met up with Zander's friends Ezra and Mia at the park. It was early in the morning and I certainly didn't expect it to be so hot yet, so I didn't bring Zander's swim suit for the splash park. It wasn't on when we first got there, so he just played with his trucks and friends on the regular playground.

But the minute he heard the splash pad turn on, he went running straight for it. Thankfully Ezra's mom had an extra swim diaper, so he could go in and play or it would of been a rough morning! Here are some pictures from the water fun!

The Big Red Truck

On Saturday, one of Zander's little friends, Elias, celebrated his 3rd birthday. His parents arranged for a fire truck to come out to his birthday party so the kids could ring the bell and push all the buttons. Zander thought it was fantabulous and so did every other kid there. Here are a few pictures!

Back Yard Fun

We bought a little inflatable pool for Zander last weekend. I was thinking how it's going to get hot here real soon and that I was going to need things involving water to keep him occupied. He loves being outside entirely too much to care about the heat. So now in addition to the big pool he can splash around in this one that comes equipped with a sun shade and little squirting fountain on the front. We also took him to a park down the road that has a splash pad today. He absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures, but I'm sure we'll be going back soon.


Evan decided it would be fun for Zander to peek over the fence at Owen when he heard them outside, which resulted in two boys hanging out over the fence for a few minutes last Sunday. I saw what was going on from inside the house and ran out to get a few pictures!

Step Away from the Bike

Earlier this week we went out front for a random play date with our next door neighbors. Zander and Owen played with yard utensils and ultimately ended up in Owen's backyard playing with all his fun yard toys. They are at an age where they seem to be playing quite well together, although Zander likes to hoard all the toys/yard tools. It's fun to watch. I'm going to be a big brother. November 16th is when my new playmate arrives. It's a good thing, because these dogs are getting boring!

Easter Sunday

We had a nice Easter weekend. Friday night we prepped Zander for his first egg hunt on Saturday morning by scattering some plastic eggs and a bucket on the living room floor.

He knew just what to do. We are talking about one smart cookie. It was no different at the egg hunt. He managed to get ten eggs into his bucket before they all disappeared.


Not bad for his first Eggstravaganza! After the egg hunt and naps, we ended the afternoon running around at the park. Sunday morning we woke up pretty early and ventured out to Seaworld for the Easter Sunrise Service they do out there each year.

It was really nice to worship God in the midst of His creation. Zander did really well, clapping and dancing to the music and using sign language to point out the birds flying by the stadium. We'll probably do that again next year.

After naps, we went to Easter brunch, where Zander enjoyed full strength apple juice for the first time, which we quickly decided to dilute, since we could tell he was just a little too happy. After another nap, we went for a family walk toting Zander in his wagon. It was a great day celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.
