The Wrong Side of the Sun

Zander has been sleeping a lot this week, but unfortunately on the wrong side of the sun. Wednesday night he did a five hour stretch, which was awesome! Now he's back to 1-2 hour stretches....I'm hoping big for tonight!

Two Month Check Up

So we bundled Zander up this morning and took him to his two month check up. He came in at 13 pounds. He doubled his birth weight basically. Also, he's grown about 4 inches long since birth. The doctor was encouraged since he moved from the 10th percentile in most categories last visit up to the 50th percentile in most categories. She said he was an over achiever. We are having him dedicated at church on February 1st. We are looking forward to that since we've been on the edge of our seats waiting for the next baby dedication dates to be announced. We'll probably try to have it filmed and put on the blog.....but no guarantees.

Caught in the Act!

So it's official, we have a thumb sucker. Zander was 8 weeks old yesterday, I can't believe it. We take him for his two month check up tomorrow, so we'll know more officially what he weighs and all! That's all I have time to write about now.....more later.

Big Night Out

The weather here has gotten cold (30's in the evening), so we were able to break out one of Zander's hats tonight (see pictures). We just met up with our friends Shawn & Katie (and Shawn's sister Gabe) for some redneck burritos. Zander was the center piece at our table in his car seat enjoying the conversation about hardcore music, inner city kid ministry and bouncing hot dogs. Good times. Also, today he ventured out with me for the first time to the best grocery store ever, Publix. He was awake and alert the entire time just smiling at me from the cart. A nice guy that lives in our neighborhood helped me carry out the groceries, so I didn't have to fumble with the car seat and bags. As always - shopping was a pleasure! In sleeping news, he reverted back to his hourly wake up calls in the middle of the night - so I decided to break out the night owl shirt that Evan's sister and mom gave him because it's quite fitting! (notice his dimple in the first picture) It's an honor for me to be able to call this little guy my son.

Hallelujah!

Zander slept a 4.5 hour stretch for the first time ever last night! It was wonderful to sleep for any length of time over 2 hours! I do have to mention he did sleep in bed with us vs. in his crib, but I'll take it no matter where he was.... and he seems happy about it too! Here is footage of him hanging out in his crib for a little while this morning making a few of his cute noises!

Beautiful Day

Beautiful Day by U2 and Can't Touch This by MC Hammer are just a few of the songs Zander enjoyed as we ate lunch with Evan's dad and brother at our stomping ground Tijuana Flats. It's about the only place we will take him every once in a while to get out of the house. He likes to be under the loud speaker on the patio in the car seat holder - the 80's and 90's music they play seems to be a hit. His pants are so big - resembling MC Hammer parachute pants from the 90's - or was it 80's? Anyway, U2 had it right, it was a beautiful day, I reckon around 80 degrees.

Double Digit Smiles

It's official, he's now into double digits coming in over 10 pounds today. He's still cute as a button. Excuse the blurriness in the picture, but I did get a snapshot from my cell phone camera of his smile while he was swinging yesterday.
